Storefront signage is the “curb-appeal” of your business. Having a unique and inviting storefront presence is essential for the success of your retail establishment.
Be Consistent
Brand consistency plays a major role here. If your customer has done their research, perhaps finding you on-line using a search engine, they will expect to see the same “look & feel” on your sign as they pull up to your store…so don’t forget to implement good graphics on your storefront signage, especially if you are on a major strip or a high traffic area.
Be Visible
Make sure your sign is visible from the most important angles. Place you sign in an ideal place for maximum viewing for passers-by. Consider a lighted sign or illuminated sign for nighttime vision.
Be Attractive
If you are trying to win your customers business, be attractive. People respond positively to good graphics. They will be more likely to walk into your store if your sign is attractive.
Be Informative
Make sure your key information is clear on your sign, mainly your name and phone number
We recently visited Ellicottville NY and strolled down their lovely main street. I was impressed by the storefront signage displayed up and down the avenue. Here are some samples:

So you have this idea, or this product, or this concept that you want to put into the marketplace. You’ve been thinking about it, pondering it, sketching it, and talking to your friends about it. You’ve got lots of support, but where to begin?
Research
You’ve done your research. You know how much it will cost to produce. You have your manufacturers all lined up. Cost per item, you’ve figured out the profit vs. production cost ratio. You are all set. You are ready to contemplate the next steps.
Name
You have a catchy name. Something that will stick in your customer’s mind.so when they are in need or want of your particular product, they’ll think of only you. YOUR name will pop into their heads.
So, you’ve invested all this time and research into your “baby”. And now you are faced with the most critical part of the process. This is the part that could make it or break it. How will your product be presented visually? How will it be packaged? How will you communicate to the public all that is wrapped up in your idea?
The way you present your brand visually…
is perhaps the single most important part of the process. People will either “get it” or not. If you don’t capture their attention with an eye-catching brand identity, you will surely lose them, possibly forever. Consult with a professional. Get a professional to design a brand program that will be consistent across all of your platforms, social media too. From your business card to your facebook cover page, your brand must stay consistent. But, first, start off with a professionally designed logo and brand look & feel.
