When you are choosing a font for your logo design, there are several things to keep in mind.  The fonts you choose can communicate your message in a subliminal yet powerful way. Depending on your brand’s personality, you will want to choose a font that conveys the message of your story.  Here is an example of some of our recent projects and the fonts we chose and why.

Strong, Reliable, Stately

RGB.WARJAM.Logo.Final.(pos)If you are a construction management company with high-end clients, and your target market is developers who want top-quality service and craftsmanship, you will choose fonts that are strong, yet stately. The font choices we started with when we designed The Warjam Group’s brand identity were Extension Bold Italic and Impact among others.  In the end, the logo design they chose used the font Friz Quadrata, and elegant, sophisticated font with a distinct personality, communicating, “no one will do the job like us” Although the originally drawn font is not as heavy as we wanted it, we gave it an outline stroke and it worked perfectly.

Rough, Raw, Fun

If you are a BBQ restaurant that serves real authentic down South dry rubs on the best quality ribs in town, you’ll want to choose a font that looks & feels raw, rough, authentic and southern, telling your customer, these are gonna be the best darn ribs we’ve ever had!  For this project we chose fonts like: Old Western and Rockwell Bold. In the end, our client chose the logo using the font Go 2 Old Western. We photoshopped a weathered rough texture to the type to make it more rough in feeling.

Contemporary, Clean, Fresh

croton-energy-group-branding-programIf you are a sustainability company that has energy conservation in mind. You’ll want to choose a font that tells your customer you are reliable, conscientious and fresh and ultimately clean.  We chose fonts like Myriad and Clearface Gothic.  Ultimately the client chose the logo using Clearface Gothic Bold in all lower case, which communicates current, and trending—like these guys know their stuff and the future of this industry.

There are so many fonts to choose from, it can be a daunting task.  After many years of creating logos, we are very familiar with font styles and what will work where.  If you would like to see some additional designs, please visit our website: https://hudsonvalleygraphics.com/
