Designing logos is a process. A slow process. Logo creations don’t just appear on our computer screens. They take hours of trial & error, working with fonts, images, and colors. There are many designs that never get shown to the client, as we only choose the best to present.
When I sit with a new client, listening to them describe their business, I can sometimes picture their logo in my head–right off the bat, sometimes not. The words they use create images for me. I eventually translate those images into their brand logo.
Phases
We work in Phases. Our process goes like this:
Phase 1: Initial design development: We meet with our client one-on-one and understand their objectives, what their graphic design needs are, and what their business goals are.
Phase 2: Present several logo designs: We provide our clients with 5 different logo options. Our clients choose one, and ask for revisions or refinements to the presented design. Perhaps they’d like to see the design in a different color or shape. We make adjustments and re-present.
Phase 3: Final logo design applied to marketing tools or “touchpoints”: After our client has decided upon a logo design, phase 3 is all about implementing. This varies for every client, of course! Some clients ask for business cards and signage, while others just need a great website. Some need a new logo design applied to t-shirts and promotional materials. We work with our clients, collaborating on what would be best to grow their business.
New Client
Our new client, Ryan Pulaski, owner of Falvella Fence Company, wanted a new logo as he re-branded his grandfather’s fence company. After collaborating with us on the design phases, we created a new brand image that best describes his company’s attributes, telling it’s brand story.
We applied the new Falvella Fence logo to Ryan’s business cards as well as his truck showing him a picture of how the new logo would look! Ryan is involved in every aspect of these phases. He knew exactly what he wanted and what logo would be most beneficial for his business located in Rock Tavern, NY.
Ryan’s next endeavor is creating a website. Stay tuned for the final presentation of his website!
