Custom logos are always drawn in vector art. What is vector art? It is art that was drawn in a program like Adobe Illustrator CS6, using a series of tools to create straight and curved lines. Graphic designers use these programs and tools to hand draw typography and illustrations for print and digital use, thus creating a custom logo design.
We recently were approached by a client who owns a new business. He had a logo that he wanted to blaze across the side of his truck. Only problem was, when he took the logo to the sign, he was told that the logo was not created in vector art, so that it would not reproduce properly. When the sign guy went to enlarge it to the size of his truck panel, the logo appeared pixelated..ragged edges. It looked unprofessional.
Our client came to us to create a vector file for his truck graphic. We took the jpg file from his original email and used it as a base. We re-drew the logo right on top of his old logo—just think about a piece of tracing paper on top of a drawing and tracing the logo on top of another object on the paper below.
We “hand-draw” the custom logos using the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator CS6. When it’s done, the logo will be able to be printed in any size, big or small. It will have smooth edges, so when it is enlarged to the size of our client’s truck, it will look perfectly smooth..the same as it appears on his computer screen, on his business card, and on all his printed collateral as well.
