What colors do you respond to? Every color evokes some kind of reaction, however subtle or strong. Did you know you can “own” a color? Yes, it’s true! You can choose a color palette for your branding program that will always be associated with your own brand. If you stick to it, having consistency from your logo design to your website design and printed materials, you will strongly reinforce your brand program, bringing your customer back to you every time!
In creating a branding logo solution for Nappy Automotive in Westchester, NY, we chose colors that promoted brand loyalty.
We want Nappy owner Ron Napolitani’s customers to recognize his brand logo from a great distance, as well as zipping by on the doors of his “moving billboard”, better known as his tow trucks!
We chose primary colors and black. We chose colors that say “automotive”. We chose colors that say “I can trust these guys to fix my car!” Reds, yellows, blues and black did the job of solving the graphic design challenge to make Nappy Automotive stand out amongst it’s local competitors.
In my next post, I’ll talk about the “nitty gritty” of graphic design.
It’s true. I do associate certain colors with certain brands I’ve come to know and love. That Logo is so important.
I love this post! I definitely feel some ownership of the colors I use in my branding and on my blog, TheAccidentalMrs.com. I use a grey, charcoal and salmon color pallet and really do love it 🙂
This is something I’ve been slowing thinking of and trying to find how to put it all together. I’ve got the colors, now looking for how to design it! Great post…
