Facebook has emerged to be the number one rated social media outlet in 2013. Any company, whether new or old, big or small, can’t afford NOT to have a Facebook Business Page in this day and age. Here’s a list why we think it’s imperative.
.) As of June 2013, there were a total of 1,110,000,000 monthly active Facebook users, 680,000,000 of them being mobile users. The chances of your profile being noticed by at least 100 of those BILLION active users, is pretty darn good. (http://www.statisticbrain.com/facebook-statistics/)
.) Facebook for businesses has analytics, similar to Google Analytics. You can see how many people “like” your page, and how they’re grown or depleted over a selected amount of time. You can see how many people your posts reach and at what time of day people were reading your posts. You can see which posts get the most traffic, therefore targeting those types of posts for the future. “Hey, my post about logo design reached 400 people! Guess this means we’re writing more about logos!” You can even see if you have more male or female followers, which helps to develop your demographic.
.) Your Facebook Business Page has a “check-in” option. Your customers/clients can check in at your business, therefore promoting you and giving you one extra boost on social media.
.) There are paid ways to promote your business, if you choose. You can “boost” certain posts to make it more prevalent on the main home page.
.) You can add pictures. Who doesn’t love pictures! Half of the population are visual learners, why not cater to them! Pictures of your location, your logo, your company doing things for the good of the community. All of these things are so beneficial. Even pictures of silly cats with hats, dogs dancing, fun funky socks – anything! *Just be careful not to steal pictures without giving credit!*
.) Use your Facebook Business Page to do promotions! Incentives, my friend – consumers love them. Free week at the gym? Sure! 50% off? Thank you! The first 5 people who “like” this post get a free tee-shirt? I’m in. Do it! And do it well to benefit your company.
.) It is the number one form of communication between people ages 15-45. (Those are my own guesstimates based on a compilation of sources- everyone has different statistics) EVERYONE uses Facebook. My 65 year old cousin uses Facebook. And guess what? He even posts updates, complains to companies, and uses it to get free stuff! He updates the family on what he’s doing, and we all reply. Every time. Personally, I use Facebook to see which companies have sales going on, or promotions. EVERYONE loves a good sale. I know you do, too.
.) Business branding- the most important. We all know the Starbucks logo because we see it everywhere. Make sure to keep your logo consistent so it sticks out in your audience’s mind. People will remember a good, solid logo before they remember the name of a company.
There’s no excuse not to get a FREE Facebook Business Page. If you can’t figure out how to start one, edit the page, add pictures, post, or add friends – we’re here to help!
