The world of social media marketing is exploding right before our eyes. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest…what are all of these things and HOW could they POSSIBLY help brand a business or expand it? These statistics will blow your mind.
Believe it or not, 93% of marketers are now using social media to help current and potential clients/customers get information about a company. We now have the help of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Yelp, StumbleUpon, and Tumblr to help expand a business. Overwhelmed? Join the club!
Having your business on most social media sites is crucial to gain understanding of what your company is and what you offer. Your “About Me” section gives you the ability to express yourself, your ideas and your company. 25% of smartphone owners ages 18-44 say they can’t recall the last time their smartphone wasn’t next to them. That means their chances of going on social media and coming across your company is much greater than if you didn’t have any social media connections.
23% of Facebook users check their page 5 or more times A DAY. If you do have a Facebook, it needs to be maintained properly. There are now statistics on which days of the week and which times are the best to post on all media sites. There are actual strategies to all of these social media sites. Coupons, giveaways, deals of the week, blogging; all of these things help your potential and current clients/customers get to your pages and give you the numbers you are looking for. Brand consistency with logos and images – they need to be visible everywhere you are. All of these elements are vital in maintaining social media sites.
You may not understand how it works, but one little Tweet you put out into the “twittersphere” is going to be noticed by someone who will tell someone who will go to your site. One funny picture you post on Tumblr or Instagram will be “liked” by people and hopefully shared amongst friends. One blog you “pin” to Pinterest will be seen by your followers with hopes of “repining”.
One company who is utilizing their Facebook and Twitter pages really well is Frannie’s Goodie Shop located in Mt. Kisco & Ridge Hill, NY. They have all of their information at our fingertips and keep us updated with their latest news and coupons! Keep an eye out for their updated branding!
If I want to find out about a company, the first thing I do is find them on Facebook, see if they have a Twitter and follow them. Then try LinkedIn, Google+ and eventually Instagram to see if they have any good pictures. If their pages are not updated, I frown upon them and more often than not, never return to their page or site. It’s how most of us twenty-something’s go about it these days. So if you want our business or attention, I’d recommend keeping up with your sites and putting in the effort to make an impact on your viewers!
