We often don’t realize it, but branding is everywhere we look. From supermarket shopping to television shows, there are signs of branding all over. You use a brand every day- your cell phone, your television, even the blender you use to make your morning shakes! This week the topic of branding stuck out prominently when I was watching Better Call Saul.
I was sitting in my PJ’s drinking some Bigelow green tea (branding alert!) watching AMC’s new series, Better Call Saul. Better Call Saul is basically the prequel to their fabulously famous series, Breaking Bad. Halfway through the 3rd episode, Saul Goodman (who we come to find out in this series is actually born with the name Jimmy McGill) decides he wants to brand himself as a lawyer and have a logo. So naturally, I jumped off the couch and paid more attention!
You’ll have to watch as to why, but Jimmy (Saul) creates this brand and logo along with a giant billboard in efforts to spite his competitor. However, his logo is very similar to his competitors, which he basically does on purpose. Jimmy and the competitor end up with a Judge, I believe, debating whether or not he can use this specific logo. Which got me to thinking!
People create their own logos and brand themselves on their own every day. This is precisely why professional branding services are so important! To create individual, one of a kind, professional logos is something so important to have. Which is why we are here!
If you are familiar with Breaking Bad, and loved it as much as I did, you will definitely enjoy Better Call Saul. So take a look! Hopefully you’ll appreciate the branding topic as much as I did!
