If you’re looking for avatar design inspiration, look no further than your logo’s key elements. We believe people respond positively to good graphic design. As a business owner, if you take advantage of every opportunity you have to present good graphics—people will respond positively, moving towards becoming a customer. Your company’s avatar is a perfect example of this.
According to WordPress, an avatar is an image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on avatar enabled sites.
Your avatar is that little graphic that shows up every time you post something on social media. In some cases, it is your profile picture reduced down to show who created the post. It is a tiny graphic reminder of who you are. We believe your logo tells people whom you are when you’re not around. Your avatar does the same.
Just Reducing Your Logo As Is
As a graphical representation of the user, your avatar holds tremendous power. Why? Because if you post regularly, you have the opportunity to flash your logo/avatar in front of your potential customer several times a day. Why is this important? Because your customer might not be ready to buy your product now…but at some point they will be in need of your product or service and if you have been faithfully flashing your avatar/logo in front of them for weeks or even months (or years) that same customer will most likely consider using your service or at least taking one step closer to becoming a real paying customer
There is a local family in my community that will watch your dog at their house when you are away. They often post cute pictures on Facebook of the dogs they’re currently watching. I love dogs. I have two dogs. This interests me. I’m not planning on using their service anytime soon, but if I need to, I know who I’m calling to take care of my precious Buddy & Nellie. I’ve seen their avatar daily for the past year in their postings.
Not Taking Your Avatar Seriously
A well-designed avatar will boost sales, maybe not immediately or directly–but it’s definitely part of the process. Every touchpoint is an opportunity to promote your business. A well-thought out, well-designed brand program will let your customer know you are serious, professional and capable of providing the service they need.
